Last Independent Office Supply Dealer in Oswego Retires Business

Parkside Office Supplies purchased by East Syracuse-based supplier.
By Chris Motola

The last independent office supply dealer in Oswego has been sold to East Syracuse-based office products dealer, Ianuzi Office Supply.

Parkside Office Products, a 20-year-old business owned by Oswego County resident Bob Krolik, was sold upon his retirement to Ianuzi, the second such Oswego-based business to do so in less than a year. E. S. Howard Office Company was acquired by Ianuzi in 2003.

?Bob was ready to retire,? said Ianuzi president Stephen D. Ianuzi. He cited troubles Parkside had competing and growing in the current market, as well as a lack of online presence, as also being factors leading up to the sale. Ianuzi will be merging Parkside?s customer base with its own. Former Parkside employee Brenda Marino is assisting with the changeover.

?Parkside and E. S. Howard customers have been pleased with our pricing,? said Ianuzi, who purchases his supplies directly from manufacturers.

A 73-year-old, third generation business, Ianuzi does not have a retail presence but markets its products -- which also include furniture, healthcare supplies, and imaging -- directly to businesses and consumers through its associates and web site.

?We want to go out and meet our customers,? Ianuzi said. ?Our strength is in our ability to go to the customer.?
