We just printed 40,000 copies of the publication and are in the process of distributing them.
The guide is one of those big projects that require a great deal of work from a team of about 15 people. We spend countless hours selling advertising space, writing feature stories, doing research for the event’s calendar and designing all the 100-plus-page publication. It’s nice to finally see the project come to fruition and in the hands of readers.
With an attractive layout, great feature stories focusing on some of the best destinations in Upstate New York, the Summer Guide lists over 700 attractions and events taking place in the region — from festivals, to farmers markets to musical events and county fairs.
We’re happy that nearly 200 advertisers chose to advertise with us. They provide us the funds to produce and distribute the publication. In exchange, they get unparalleled exposure — we estimate the glossy publication reaches more than 250,000 readers in the region — visitors and residents alike. Our hope is that many of those readers will patronize those who advertise.
We place the Summer Guide in strategic locations in the Finger Lakes, Adirondacks and the 1000 Island region. Locally, a team of five drivers drop off the Summer Guide in nearly all hotels, motels, diners, campgrounds, banks and other high traffic locations. In addition, all Wegmans grocery stores carry the publication in all its locations in Central New York — free of charge. All advertisers also get free copies of the publication so they can share it with their customers.
Subscribers to Oswego County Business magazine also get a copy the publication in the mail. Not a subscriber? Check our coupon in this issue and become one — it’s $21.50 for the year. We’ll send you a copy of the guide in the mail right away.
